Billion Naira Colossus Launches in Nigeria

Giant Wagers, a betting firm headquartered in the United Kingdom, is introducing its well-received “Select 7 Colossus” game to the Nigerian market via collaborations with domestic bookmakers 1960Bet and NairaBET. The game, renamed “Billion Naira Colossus,” presents a substantial weekly grand prize of ₦1 billion (Nigerian Naira) specifically designed for Nigerian players.

Dotun Ajegbile, who established and heads 1960Bet, feels that Colossus’s offering is ideally suited for the African market. His view is shared by Akin Alabi, founder and CEO of NairaBET, who emphasized the widespread appeal of low-stakes, high-payout games among African bettors. He contends that Colossus’s product aligns seamlessly with their clientele’s preferences.

Bernard Marantelli, founder and CEO of Giant Wagers, conveyed his enthusiasm for venturing into Africa, expanding their current footprint across three continents. He stressed the increasing global awareness of the promise held by lottery-sized sports jackpots and their proprietary “Withdraw” function, which permits players to redeem their wagers before an event concludes.

Giant Wagers debuted its direct-to-consumer product in 2013 and has since secured more than 20 business-to-business agreements to distribute its offerings worldwide. The company possesses a portfolio of patents related to its novel “Withdraw” capability.
