Codere Appoints New Director, Expands Board Structure

Codere has selected a new director at its yearly shareholder gathering.

The gambling firm Codere has chosen Michelle Elimelech as a new member of its governing body, taking the place of Oscar Iglesias.

Elimelech joins the roster of four directors proposed by Codere. He has held numerous roles at 888, including Director of Marketing in the United States, Director of Bingo, and Director of Developed Markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Most recently, he served as Chief Operations Officer of Passiflora and Chief Marketing Officer of Space Ape Games.

Patrick Ramsay, Head of the Board, stated the firm is thrilled to have Elimelech join the board.

Ramsay said: “Her expertise in digital marketing and expanding businesses into new territories is a perfect match for Codere Online as it continues to execute its growth plans in Spain and Latin America.”

Codere also approved the appointment of Borja Fernandez as Head of the Audit Committee, previously a non-voting observer.

The operator also established a Compliance Committee under its board structure, with Ramsay as chairman. Elimelech is also listed as a member, along with Rafael Catalá, Mark Dunn, and Yaiza Rodriguez.

Income Rise
Recently, Codere reported that it significantly reduced its net loss in the first quarter of 2023. The company recorded a 54% increase.

Digital gaming earnings saw a 9% increase, with consistent growth year-over-year in all operational regions.
