Okada Manila Rebrands as UE Resorts International, Eyes US Expansion

UE Resorts International, previously recognized as Okada Manila, is strategizing to broaden its reach into fresh markets such as New York City.

The gambling establishment will combine forces with 26 Capital, a specially designed acquisition company (SPAC) spearheaded by Jason Ader, to list publicly in the United States and respond to the New York State Gaming Commission’s inquiry for data regarding up to three land-based permits.

These permits, all situated in the southern region of the state close to New York City, were authorized by a 2013 public vote that also permitted the construction of four casinos in the upstate area.

The New York State Gaming Commission issued the request for information in October to gather input from prospective licensees and other individuals who might be impacted by the development of these casinos. The RFI concluded today (December 10).

The commission stated its intention to determine the scale and nature of potential casino development, the value of the gaming licenses, and the most effective method for selecting the recipients of the licenses.

Although Spectra Gaming Group cautioned in January that a gambling establishment in the southern region might result in the shuttering or job losses at facilities in the northern region due to heightened rivalry, inquiries for information are still being received.

Okada Manila International Corporation, in announcing its response to these inquiries, also disclosed its intention to rebrand itself as UE Resorts International, a moniker that reflects its parent company, Universal Entertainment.

The organization stated that the new name was chosen to “more accurately represent the company’s expansion strategies in Asia and other nations, including the United States.”

President Byron Yip stated: “The shift to UE Resorts International marks another significant achievement for our business. The company continues to capitalize on its captivating destination in one of the world’s fastest-growing gaming markets to generate income while providing exceptional experiences for its patrons.”

Jun Fujimoto, President and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Entertainment, asserted that the name change is the subsequent step in the SPAC merger strategy.

Fujimoto stated: “As the enterprise continues to expand, the name change is fitting. Our collaboration with Jason Ader and 26 Capital is merely the commencement of our plans.”

UE Resorts International, formerly known as Okada Manila International Corporation, has announced a name change. This shift in branding aims to concentrate their efforts on expanding and enhancing Okada Manila, while also venturing into new ventures in international markets.

Okada Manila, a prominent resort destination in the Philippines, received approval from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) earlier this year to provide online gambling services. This new service will operate under the existing Okada Manila name.
